Economy: Britain’s space age business takes another giant step

On BBC Radio 4’s Today Programme this morning it was reported that the UK’s contribution to the European Space Agency is being increased from £170 million to £240 million.

This will create more jobs at Harwell.

Like much of the British Manufacturing economy apparently the sector has been growing at over 7% a year since 2008, and is now worth £9 billion to the UK economy.

For every £1 spent of investment, there is a £4 return, so the latest investment is definitely good news.
