In the last two years the Liberal Democrats in Government have cut the council tax bills of every household in Manchester that is paying Council Tax by 5%.
This year the Liberal Democrats in Government are offering the City Council the opportunity of a third year of Council Tax freeze but Labour, instead of accepting this Government money, propose to increase council tax by 3.7%.
The Liberal Democrats in Government have already made people paying council tax at the lowest band, Band A, £41.78 better off, and with a proposed historic 3rd year of Council Tax freeze would have made some of the poorest families in our city a further £ 37.30 better off this year.
The total council tax cut delivered by the Liberal Democrats in Government would be £ 79.17. In a climate in which every little helps the Liberal Democrats are ensuring that hard working low paid families do not pay for the mistakes Labour made.
